#VabulousWoman Wednesday Spotlight with Tandric Bowden

Updated: Jul 21

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tandric.

What is your full name?

My name is Tandric Bowden.

Where are you located? (City and State)

I live in Metro Atlanta, Georgia.

What do you currently do and who do you serve?

I am a Virtual Assistant. I serve small businesses, entrepreneurs, and new ministries.

What did you do before you started your own business?

I am along sider. I still have my full-time job as well. I am a Provider Relations Representative in the Pediatric Health Care Field.

Share 3-4 fun facts about you that people don't know

  1. I am a servant leader

  2. Notary Public for state of Georgia

  3. Mother of two beautiful young adult daughters

  4. Lastly I live by the Golden Rule: Treat others how I want to be treated.

What made you finally start your own business?

I was always doing administrative tasks for people: mom, church, children, friends, and the list goes on. God truly did lay it on my heart to start my own business.

What was the FIRST step you took to launch your business?

To be honest, I did not know where to start. I started looking up things on Google, YouTube and Facebook Groups. I looked up Youtube videos on how to file for my LLC. Once I did that, I also joined the Virtual Assistant Savvies Group on FaceBook, I signed up for their paid subscription “The Virtual Savvy”. In the Virtual Assistant Savvies Program, Abbey Ashley & her team takes you through courses on how to set up your business and classes to build on your services to offer.

What were some challenges you faced in your business?

A challenge that I had was locating the right client that aligned with my services and values.

How was the transition from (employee) to (boss)? Was it hard to adjust to your WFH, mom or boss life?

Yes, absolutely being my own boss has been challenging at times. I had to research the right Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool to use. I had to work on time management and set expectations for my clients and set boundaries at times.

What is your favorite productivity tool or hack?

Toggl Track is my go-to tool for keeping on track with hours worked on a project. I like it because I can break things down into categories and provide a detailed report for my clients.

What do you think is the biggest challenge most business owners face?

Staying true to themselves, being authentic and not getting caught up in what everybody else is doing. Each business owner brings their own style to the table. Everyone has customers, clients that are just for them.

As an entrepreneur, how do you help women in general when it comes to getting their life and/or business in order?

I help them by being a cheerleader for them, encouraging them to press forward. I study their business and learn how I can better assist them with any loopholes. I provide better processes and tools if needed, so that they can focus on driving in more revenue.

What is the big vision for your business?

My big vision is to see my business expand globally. I would love to see single mothers, stay at home mom’s, know that they can have their own successful business as well. For new clients in 2021, I will offer 10% discount off my fees: Mention the code - NEW2021

What do you do when you're not working? How do you like to relax?

When I am not working I enjoy praying, going out to eat, I am a foodie, attending comedy shows, reading a good book and taking walks in the park. Oh yes, I enjoy going to the beach or a getaway in the mountains.

Any brunch spots in your city worth mentioning/your favorite spot?
